Having joined Islands December 2019, Will has over 15 years’ experience in Insurance Broking, with the majority of this being in the Trust & Corporate market. Roles including business development and relationship management have provided Will with a great experience in how all clients should be dealt with but also an understanding of how this needs to be tailored to particular clientele. Someone who prides himself in his ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and his ambitions to succeed.
These ambitions have led towards the development of the Trust and Corporate team and providing talented Islands staff the option to progress and further their careers in this space.
Business Development Executive
A seasoned Business Development Professional and Relationship Manager with experience in South African- and international business operations. Rick remains agile in complex circumstances and designs outcomes for his clients. This stems from a career of leading teams of highly efficient sales professionals, across a multitude of trading landscapes. He enjoys and is fantastically skilled in developing business relationships to achieve organisational- and customer goals. He has pioneered new business in young markets through great networking expertise and the ability to efficiently anticipate opportunities for multinational organisations.
His broad frame of experience ranges from Consumer Goods, Publishing, Advertising and Advertising Technology, and he currently applies his talents in the insurance industry in the Channel Islands. Excelling at Business Development, the opportunity to lead teams, commercial sales, the advertising landscape, analysis and relationship management.
Trust and Corporate Broking Executive
After leaving school Jodie started working at an Insurance Broker’s and joined the Personal Lines department for around 2 years. Following exceeding weekly targets and cross selling competitions, she was promoted into the Commercial department. Jodie worked in a close knit team developing Commercial Insurance Knowledge and dealt with some of the broker’s larger clients. As well as dealing with the clients renewals, she developed relationships with her clients and also dealt with all aspects of their insurances.
This included, renewals, Mid-term adjustments and handling their claims. Shortly after 2 years, the two Commercial teams merged and she mainly focused on Property Owners products and online –trade lines. Jodie has dealt with a range of mid to High net worth clients before moving to Islands Insurance.
Trust and Corporate Broking Executive
Three years’ experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Islands he was employed at a leading speciality insurer as an administrator for their Underwriting & Claims Operations Support. This gave Joe exposure to many classes of business from Cargo & Hull to Transactional Liability, but his primary focus was on Professional Indemnity, particularly for Private Enterprise Beauty, Medical Malpractice, and Events risks.
He has now been working at Islands for one year, and in this time has begun writing and advising mainly on Property and Liability risks for the NFUM, as well as developing contacts and placing business within the wider insurance market. Currently working towards his Diploma in Insurance and engaged in projects to further widen Islands’ insurance offering.
